The Ottawa Network Appoints
Rick O’Connor as President
OTTAWA, ONTARIO, - March 10th, 2009 – The Ottawa Network, a grassroots, community-based organization focused on stimulating new opportunities in Ottawa’s hi-tech community, today announced the appointment of Rick O’Connor to the position of President. Along with his appointment, Rick will also join the Board of Directors.
Mr. O’Connor, currently CEO of strategic consultancy True Reckoning, is a proven industry executive with 25 years of experience who has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40TM business leaders. Throughout his career, Mr. O’Connor has focused on increasing business value through leading-edge product and market development.

Members will have their first opportunity to meet Rick O’Connor at the Start Up - Drop In event Wednesday March 18th, 2009, hosted by LaBarge Weinstein, 515 Legget Drive, Suite 800, Kanata. The event starts at 5:30pm.

About Rick O’Connor
For the past two years, Mr. O’Connor has been President and CEO of True Reckoning Corporation (http://www.truereckoning.com) a boutique consulting firm focused on helping companies achieve sustainable growth through strategic innovation.
Prior to True Reckoning, Mr. O’Connor played a key role over a 15 year period in the overall growth of Tundra Semiconductor serving as CTO and VP Strategic Marketing. In this role, he drove overall corporate strategy and innovation within Tundra and was responsible for delivering next-generation products to manufacturers in the embedded market. Mr. O’Connor initiated and lead multi-million dollar M&A transactions with Motorola Semiconductor (now Freescale), IBM Microelectronics, Intel and Texas Instruments.
Mr. O’Connor has also held Product Management and Design Engineering positions at Newbridge Networks, Canadian Marconi Company and Canadian Astronautics Limited. Over the course of Mr. O’Connor’s career, he has launched dozens of products accounting for over $500 million in revenues.
